I thought it would be cute to design an anthro beetle guy. I certainly like him, although it was difficult to choose his palette. I didn't know if he was too red or too orange, so I think I hit a sweet spot. Then I didn't know what to do about his clothes, so I tried something sunshine-y and warm on for size.

It ended up with someone saying along the lines of it looking like the Brazilian flag, so I guess there's an idea to him. He is based off of a Japanese Rhinocerous Beetle (albeit not to the T), so it seems like it ties itself well together.

Doodled Rabies Chan sitting on a loveseat. Is that what they call a single-person sofa? Couch? Is it a sofa? I dunno!

Continued work on commissions! These two minis were also for the previously mentioned commissioner. The first one I finished towards the end of The Lion King (1994), and the second I worked on while starting on The Lion King 1 1/2. I do believe this was all in the early morning, the previous being at night. Oops!

After I'd completed and sent all three commissions over, I decided to draw a nice little Chichi for myself. I saw a cute picture of Fluttershy, so I drew over it. Isn't Chichi just the cutest?! Although, her big ears make it difficult to put her in a square emote slot...

Did a commission today! A user from the Art Fight server approached me about my commissions, and said that they really liked my artstyle. That made me feel pretty peachy. I was watching The Lion King (1994, of course) when I made this. The Lion King's 30th anniversary had passed, and I had only learned about that recently, so I decided to tune in.

The other day, I came across a base pack of emotes on Ko-fi. I thought they were so cute, I went ahead and downloaded them (they're free!) and made a lil pop cat gif of Dust Chan. You can view the full-sized version in the gallery, which is at a much faster speed.

You can download the base pack here. Credits to Loumon!

More commissions done today! I did the first in the early morning, and the second in the afternoon. At least, that's how I remembered it. While I was working on these, I was listening to Vargskelethor play QT (and related games). I really like the fact Vargskelethor is able to enjoy games like these, while also able to play horror games (and fearlessly, at that). I like cute things, and absolutely can't handle horror myself. Fun ride!

With a fresh(er) outlook on this funny guy, I ended up starting a bunch of redraws with him. Oops. I prommy I'll focus on other things soon....

To start- a redraw of a drawing I made him in a mage (wizard?) outfit, complete with wand! I made the previous drawing in an attempt to learn a new way of drawing, but I didn't really understand it, so it didn't take hold. I tried to copy it over to this new one (albeit with lineart included), and I think it looks okay. A lack of planning regarding the background kinda makes the one I drew up off, however, so I included a version with a plain grey background (like the original).

MORE MINIS... perhaps the last of them, at least unless I decide on a fifteenth character for my artfight (fourteen is already plenty, lol...). Hershi, in his original outfit, and my birthday werm, Junior, in her funny little hat! Yaaayyy!

Lastly, I decided to wrap things up with this drawing I had let sit a few days in an attempt to think it over, but I think it's just okay as it is. The original image was way more compact, while this one a bit more spacious to accommodate Hershi's pose, so it's okay. Really. Lol....

I put on some music in the early morning, hoping to inspire me to focus on the drawings I was working on, but I ended up being inspired to work on other drawings instead. Well, moreso doodles. Isn't that just nice? You'll have to check the mystery fourth one yourself in the gallery (content warnings applied).

i just shit out my ass

Had a fun call with a friend with some drawing smattered in! Woo, more productivity!

Well, my laptop broke. So I didn't draw for nearly a week. I was so depressed, I couldn't make myself do anything. I had an art trade in the works and kept getting poked about it, and I really don't like that, so I just up and finished it as quickly as I could when I managed to get the energy to do it. I don't know- I didn't plan for my laptop to go kaput. Thankfully, they weren't upset, which is very generous.

At the same time, I did a redraw of an old sketch of my even older character, Hershi. He's still going through an identity crisis, but I'm set in just accepting him for what I often used him for- fun little doodles that often (well, half of the time) led to a completed piece... my need for a feeling of productivity gets real satiated when I do drawings of him. A flexible and cute character!

Yes, you heard that right- I completed the second part to the Google Street View meme! About two weeks late... but I'm happy I got it done. Productivity feels great! Especially while you're listening to Vargskelethor go on about skin walkers and Mr. Bean being inappropriate with a dryer. I can hear the noises even now....

Afterwards, I worked on even more minis. Yeah, they're gonna keep coming til Art Fight starts. After that, we'll see about some more detailed artworks, huh?!?

Today, I spent a little too much time trying to design a Skitty x Deino fusion. Okay, it doesn't really look like a complete fusion, but it's the idea I had! I originally tried using colors directly from the sprites, but I didn't like it, and using a recent epiphany I had regarding the colors I liked on my characters, opted for that instead. Well, there you have it- various shades of brown, with a dash of cream and a topping of pink. Can't argue with what comes naturally to me, but I've been pretty bad at keeping pokemon-related characters, so we'll see....

After her lovely little comeback on Maid Day, it only made sense to me I continued on her streak and brought her in for Art Fight. This meant she got her own simple reference image and mini to accompany her. Compared to her last reference, I actually chose to keep her kimono a biiit more on the simpler side, while her obi got a more intricate pattern to it. I don't really know the science behind kimono colors and designs, so I did what I could from the knowledge I had gleaned from a brief search into it.

Ta-da! I finally finished the first part of the drawings I had planned of this meme that had been circulating around JP Twitter, which was related to people finding family members on Google Street View images. Three school girls posing for the camera, I felt it was the perfect opportunity considering the drawings I had just been doing. Unlike most, however, I opted to draw the background out, as I didn't really feel like having the photo background (even if I do like images like that).

Afterwards I went and made Milk (er, Holly) a super simple reference image. This is her first completed and clean image (aside from the mini) after having only manifested in the form of sketches, so it's a nice thing to have.

Since the next day was National Donut Day, I went back and updated the drawing I had done in April (which was a redraw of a donut day image, mind). I edited Dust's hair to have the floof she has these days, and added in some text for the heck of it (my handwriting is not that cute).

Since I began working on a bigger draw this week, you only get a little Holly today. Lots to do before Art Fight begins, eh? Happy Tuesday!

In preparation for Art Fight, I put together a more in-depth (and hopefully, nicer looking) reference for my character, Maria (which I also dub as Cuckoo Clock, since it's kinda easier to call a chan by what they are... at the moment, all chans I know of are entirely unique). Something I always feel like mentioning is that her charm point is definitely the way her nose compliments her face. There is a beauty in it that makes me love her!

Along with the mini I'll use for her Art Fight icon, I drew the third little gift for my friend. Trojan is a character that has a few appearances, so I combined two of her human ones and her (pony?) horse self into a single image. Cute, eh?!

So the other day I found out a friend of mine commissioned a really nice gift for me. It was honestly pretty kind of them to talk to me about how things are and how they felt, and in the end, they decided to do something nice. I appreciate that kind of honesty from people, so I decided to draw a few minis of his characters while I worked on my own. Peachy!!

Finally, the last letter/diary/journal/whatever page is here! Sour in all her colorful glory. I hope whoever's been watching has enjoyed these pages! I think they're very cute ~ not to honk my own horn or anything!! Ha!

Happy World Reef Awareness Day! I was working on something else at the time, so I only spent enough time for a sketch. Based off of that one image of the dolphins jumping above water with rainbows and fish and coral.
