Blood-Chan, also known in folklore as "The Blood Harlot", is a being spoken throughout history as a living horror of legend. Secretive and elusive, tales of her persist across every era.
Utilizing blood as her essence, this Chan can change appearances on a liquid, monstrous and human-like scale. Composed almost entirely of blood, she is said to reek of a putrid, coppery stench. She is often described and depicted with horns made of hardened scabs. The found remains of these horns are thought to be the key piece of material evidence Blood-Chan leaves behind, and are displayed in museums today.
Within her lies the core to her shapeshifting abilities, her heart. It's what keeps her alive and able to maintain a cohesive form, and if destroyed or removed, would surely kill her. According to a witness, this heart can continue to function even after severe physical trauma; suggesting a potent regenerative ability. This resilience may explain how Blood-Chan has endured across the centuries, allowing her to persist and gradually regain enough power to continue her killings.
Other than using blood to transform, Blood-Chan can freely manipulate blood in general, including from inside the bodies of living beings. To take it a step further, she can insert herself into a person's body (alive or dead) and manipulate them from within. Victims appear to move in a zombie-like, shambling manner- she is unable to truly impersonate the natural actions of a human. With this rather gruesome ability, Blood-Chan can kill others in horrifying, violent ways.
As sightings and news of killings cropped up era after era, Blood-Chan's legend grew into a modern-day horror staple. Starting with the title of "The Blood Harlot", her legacy continued to be passed along through campfire tales, ghost stories, playground rumors, Internet hoaxes, all the way to the big screen. Most recently, a 'challenge' popular with teenagers- to cut one's hand and let it freely bleed as you venture into the woods, in an attempt to survive long enough without an encounter with the Blood Harlot- made waves across the country.
For many fans of the Blood Harlot, a question lingers- where is Blood-Chan now? Based on the more agreed upon evidence available today, she may still remain alive within the current era. Due to these theories several mysterious cases have been attributed to her continuously-growing list of killings, whether investigators agree or otherwise.
