Welcome to Chans Island!

I actually managed to download the game on the 15th, but things really got moving past midnight! Inspired by my absolute favorite cast of characters, I decided to dedicate my experience to them- Chans! Though, I would have preferred to call it 'Isle of Chans'.... This will probably be the largest of the pages, so excuse the load.

Let's Begin! (Very Early Morning)

So it begins... the first character I created, of course, was none other than Rabies-Chan! I spent a good minute working on creating her muzzle as it was her most defining trait... covering her nose and mouth, which this game allows you to remove. The voices in this game basically feel the same as the last- a bit clunky, weird, and limited in "normal" ranges. You can get pretty wacky with it, and in fact I think Rabies ended up with a unique voice as my first.

Ah... such dulcet tones...

Rabies-Chan was feeling lonely, so I was tasked with making her a new friend. I decided on Sour-Chan, who I thought would be fun to make since she has an interesting hair and eye shape. This one took a bit longer to create, adding more details, and probably the more scuffed of the lot when it came to her eye makeup. As the game only allows one layer- and you have to choose whether this layer is over or under the facial features- I had to carefully draw her eyeshadow and eyelashes so as not to overtake her actual eyes. Unfortunately, this did mean when her eyes closed, there'd be gaps.

Rabies has got a serious case of the wiggles. This will work out in Sour's favor later.

Once Sour-Chan landed on the island, I was tasked with having the two meet. They hit it off, of course, probably since this is the tutorial. Afterwards however they split up and went on their merry ways. Makes sense as they had independent personalities.

Come on guys... entertain me...

Then Sour-Chan declared her boredom (especially considering how barren the island was at this point), so she decided she wanted to actually hang out with Rabies-Chan after all. Thankfully, her prior knowledge of Rabies' interest in wiggling helped her out.

Told ya it'd come in handy.

The two went ahead to enjoy their empty getaway in each other's company.

After a couple more chats with the two, I decided to head to bed to enjoy the game when it wasn't 3AM. This was definitely going to be one heck of a time destroyer.

Is Three A Crowd? (Morning)

Back in the saddle! I decided to introduce a new Chan onto the island right away- Note-Chan! I felt like her face, being a large square-ish shape, should be interesting to draw on. She ended up coming out quite cute.

She's gonna be doing this a lot.

Pretty in-character for this one.

With the introduction of a third Mii, the clothing shop finally opened up. There were a couple basic things for sale, including a $1,000 brooch. I went right for a certain set of clothes that reminded me of a certain Chan on the island. This would end up a staple for many days to come.

Only real ones know. And she's a real one.

Checking in with the rest of the island, an event of many repeats had occurred for the first time- Sour-Chan had fallen down, and couldn't get up! I hadn't considered I'd need to give my Miis Life Alert pendants, but here we are. I decided, you know what, Note-Chan just came to town and hasn't met anybody yet, why don't I get her to help Sour in her time of need?

Note-Chan carefully considers the situation...

...and decides panic zoomies was the answer. This is probably what
caused some ire between the two later down the road.

In the meantime, Rabies-Chan was letting her playful nature let loose in her solitude. She's rather entertaining to watch. While I'd describe her character as being much more serious, it seems she retains her observant nature.

Rabies-Chan messing around, and the first mini-event I got to see.

A little bit later, Note-Chan, still yet to properly make friends with anybody, saw Sour and Rabies chilling on the beach together. She decides this would be a good time to try to mingle and make friends! Maybe?

Well... I wouldn't get THAT close....

Awkward....

This is probably the cause of Note-Chan's rather despondent attitude. Although, I think she's always been a little introspective that way.

For the first 9 levels of happiness per Mii, you are forced to give them something (a hobby, quirk, phrase, or the kid-o-matic spray), so I decided to give Rabies-Chan maracas. Little did I know, she became OBSESSED with these things. This island seriously brought the whimsy out from ol girl.

Shaking those maracas, near and far.

Someone You Hardly Even Know! (Afternoon)

Right between the cusp of morning vibrance and the settling afternoon, I went ahead and added Guillotine-Chan. Guillotine is an older, lesser known Chan who (according to my sources) takes a rather significant role in the world of Chans. Unfortunately, her time to shine hasn't come yet, but there's always a trip to Chans Island to make up for all that lost time. For her, I decided to try using a default haircut, rather than shaving her forehead bald like I did for Sour-Chan's cut. While it does look a wee bit off in certain lighting, I'd say it was a fair go at using the default assets available.

I actually introduced her a little earlier onto the island, but she gets more of a splotlight around this time. Being rather grey, I gave her the gym room due to the wallpaper's appearance.

Guillo and Rabie even hit it off rather nicely. Wigglemaxxed.

In fact, Guillo got along with everyone else so well, she basically became integrated with them by the time she met with Sour-Chan. Seems like diva knows diva well.

Like a coven of witches, they've come together to cackle their hearts out.

Feeling sorry for Note-Chan who seemed to be left out from all the fun, I went ahead and made her sister, Clipboard-Chan. I used Note-Chan's face as a base for the paint, and edited it accordingly, filling the space with the color of Clip's board, creating the paper shape and adding the clip on top. Another cutie steps foot onto the island, albeit more well known than the previous Guillotine-Chan.

Here they are, gabbing straight away.

Perhaps heartened by her sister's appearance, Note-Chan went along with Sour-Chan (a strange decision, but perhaps one made out of pity) to introduce herself properly to Rabies-Chan.

I'm pretty sure she's talking about you, Rabies-Chan...

Everyone's starting to finally get along well. They even sit and have a chat for a bit, before dispersing to do whatever it is Chans think to do.

Oh, Note-Chan, awkward as ever.

Leaving Past Ills at the Shore (Late Afternoon)

I felt, with things coming along here and there, another member to the island was imminent. My next choice was Swine Flu-Chan, an antagonist in Rabies-Chan's time. Swine Flu harbors a strong hatred for mankind, but a fondness for her fellow Chan and animals. Seeing as there were no humans on the island, I'd like to believe she would be capable of settling in comfortably.

A disturbingly appropriate newscast for her introduction.

Swine Flu-Chan immediately had a bit of an incident (you know the kind- they think of some unspeakable horror and get stuck in place. Is the world so horrifying for a Mii?). I decided to bring Rabies-Chan over to help- despite disagreeing views between characters, she knew her most of everyone. Things went perfectly, and they went ahead and started chatting. Of course, being from a time of horrors, they played right into it.

Swine Flu-Chan has gained her first friend.

A little earlier, I had given Clipboard-Chan a book. She did NOT like this book. As I wandered away from Swine Flu-Chan and Rabies-Chan, I found Clip reading that very book that she didn't like. When it comes to her character, she actually is quite the bookie, so perhaps her inner nature had her accept her lot in life having only one terrible book to read. You'll see later that this book becomes a rather popular topic of discussion among her get-togethers.

I don't even know what kind of book she'd like. Hopefully not those
muscle-monster dark romances. That would creep ME out....

Thankfully, she takes to the book, despite earlier resistance.

It seems as if, although everyone on this island is separated from their canon experiences (presenting only in personality, interests, maybe motivations), Note-Chan has become aware of Swine Flu-Chan's presence and all that would bring if this weren't a sim. As a result, Note is seen watching her from afar... perhaps wary of this being who's participated in quite a few criminal, even violent activities. Then again, Swine Flu is in a Chan utopia away from any human she could smash into a mist... hypothetically speaking. A little chat with Swine Flu seems to ease Note's fears.

Staring's rude, you know.

See how easy things can be when people just talk to each other?

I went to check on Clipboard-Chan, and gave her a new room. At least this, she liked. Now she can read all sorts of books to her heart's content, unchained from reading this one specific book she dislikes.

Or she can keep reading it anyways. Whatever floats her boat.

Later, I saw that Clipboard-Chan had fallen, and couldn't get up! Well, she's Note-Chan's sister, so she'd help this time, surely. I went in search of that nervous girl and presented her the opportunity to do something brave.

Is that really the best you can think of?!

Glad you're out of that little conundrum, aye?

Seems, just across the island, Sour-Chan also found herself in a predicament.

Who runs from free soda?!

And no quarter.

Even More Shenanigans Await (Evening - Night)

The day has gone, and night has come. Clipboard-Chan expresses her budding habit of falling sleep on benches from the get-go. I'm sure with the almost carefree attitude she holds, letting your inhibitions go in the way of a public nap's easy as pie. Now, if only people like Sour-Chan didn't feel the need to gawk, we'd surely be living in a world of peace.

A whole lot of words to end with "Isn't she just the cutest?!"

Taking a peek at her dream, it looks like she's duking it out with her sister Note-Chan in a game of human beyblades. She loses the first round.

Sorry, Clip- this was my first attempt, after all.

Later on, as Rabies-Chan and Guillotine-Chan are hanging out, something rather frightening occurred- an object sprung at them, sizing itself up like a monster! Nobody in this world seems to address the fact objects have a tendency to become sentient in certain instances like this. Perhaps there really is some eldritch horror wrecking havoc within this bubbly little reality.

A notebook? Really?

You coulda smashed that thing into waste, you know.

After that bit of excitement, Guillo and Rabies come back out to enjoy the night air. Even Swine Flu-Chan was getting in on it.

Enjoying the moonlight, are we?

Farther north towards the shops, I spotted Note-Chan staring at Where & Were. When I went to take a look, it seemed like she had been daydreaming of becoming a model on the catwalk. I never considered Note would be one for fashion, or desire such things, but I'm sure it's a fun thing for anybody to imagine trying out at least once.

Wouldn't it be a dream to debut in a cow costume?

Afterwards, Note-Chan and Clipboard-Chan ended up seeing each other on the path and went down and did the most reasonable thing you could do at night- share ghost stories! Of course, Note, being the overthinking type that she is, was most affected. On the other side of the block, Swine Flu-Chan and Rabies-Chan had met up, heading towards Rabie's place for a spot of fun. It looked like everyone had paired up tonight, because even Guillotine-Chan and Sour-Chan were having their own fun lounging about in their jammies. There's somebody for everybody around these parts.

Grab a buddy and get up to something tonight- nobody left behind!

Do you remember how, earlier, Note-Chan appeared to be wary of Swine Flu-Chan, possibly due to some 4th-wall-breaking associations? Well, I suppose during her little ghost-story-telling get-together, Note-Chan may have vocalized that instinctual wariness to her sister, Clip-Chan. It's not as if they could know what happened with Swine Flu's character in canon, but, you never know. Especially if this world of Miis really does have some eldritch power affecting it.

Swine Flu doesn't seem to notice, at least.

I looked over to the Mii News building and watched my first news broadcast! I thought the Swine Flu-Chan and Clipboard-Chan angel/devil pair was cute, although I think I would have had them flipped instead. Alternate versions of them, perhaps?

I never took Rabies-Chan for a layabout, but maybe being on a secluded island does things to you.

Down by the shore, Clipboard-Chan had secluded herself into a corner of the beach to read her book. I think it's cute when I see them find a spot like this to be by themselves in. Shows even Miis like to take a break from all the socializing, but would still like to enjoy being outdoors.

Yes, not one, but TWO different perspectives. Too cute not to.

This would have been the end for today, but I really couldn't put the game down. So head on over to the bonus page to see what more happened on the island today!
