On the Last Day of Spring
I decided to check in on Chans Island the day before summer officially rolled in. Some major happenings took place today after a long break.
A Space for Love (Late Afternoon)
After a while of not playing, I decided to take a peek at everyone before summer started. Here's what today's news story had to bring.

Why is no one asking Cholera-Chan to take a look?
After checking out the new stuff at the shops, I started checking up on everybody. I had about $5,000+ on hand, and with that in mind I intended on sending somebody to space today, since the astronaut set was that price. Having spent some cash, tending to everyone's needs would likely make back what I lost. It's fun to see that so many Chans were sprawled across the map, which makes every screenshot and video I took pretty lively.
Sorry for the hold-up, Grid-Chan...
... but to be fair, all Rabies-Chan did was start shaking her maracas around.
Nothing too important to not interrupt... maybe.
.jpg)
Down the road, Clipboard-Chan decided bananas were great.
Despite the obvious... isn't she just so cute?
Halfway through seeing how everyone was doing, I went ahead and initatied the plan- to send somebody to space! There were some good choices, but I felt like Dust-Chan was a fun one. Sending a bunny to the moon... except, she kinda goes past the moon right into the thick of space. Perhaps it was all that glittering stardust that drew her in?
.jpg)
The prospect of going to space is nothing to her.
.jpg)
Clearly, nobody told Cholera-Chan what was going on....
Ah, yes... The Chans Comic System.
.jpg)
Dust-Chan and... Note?! I guess that was her choice of travel partner for this trip.
.jpg)
I'm sure Sketch-Chan clung to Grid-Chan on the way here.
Who wouldn't want to see a rocket take off this close?
With the click of a button, off we go to space!
Turns out, this led straight to the staff roll. Alrighty then. There's not much you can do here, and even boosting doesn't have an effect on how quickly the credits scroll. All that's left is to listen to your Miis say a line every once in a while.
This was pretty funny, though. She was stressed!

Some choice exchanges followed.
.jpg)
The sequence ends with a ranking list. In the previous installment,
this list would have always been available to view, with stats to boot.
After this, we get to see the traditional travel shoot sequence. Look at em go!

A nice little album.
Once the shoot ends, we're instantly dropped back into Dust-Chan's home. Even space has souvenirs, it looks like.

.jpg)
Why, thank you.
After all the excitement, I did go and check Where & Wear, and the astronaut suit appeared. A whole $5,000 with two versions available, I went for the white version. I'll get the other one another time.
Back down to a couple bucks, I went back to saying hello to the rest of the Chans I hadn't checked in with.
.jpg)
Suave as shit and eerily straightforward.
.jpg)
In contrast, Bile-Chan has quite the way with words.
On the other end of the older Chan spectrum, domestic life is giving Firework-Chan a bit of a crisis.
I ended up discovering some hated foods along the way.

Swine Flu-Chan's observation of the recurrent heart-o-gram created by the island's ants leads us on to the next major event the island will experience today. When Spice-Chan went home, she started having those often sought-after pink thoughts- thoughts of love and romance and... marriage! Previously, I had turned her down from proposing, as Note-Chan was being quite fickle with her relationships at the time. This time however, Note was showing as being in love- much better than before. So of course... let's get to it!

The initiation.
After this we see Spice-Chan and Note-Chan sitting together. Spice appreciates Note for coming over, and Note says something along the line of "of course". What I didn't expect next was a basic version of a bullet hell. I had no idea how to go about it, so I did mess up once. Turns out it didn't matter where the thought bubbles went as long as they didn't hit you, though destroying them does reward you some way (probably makes the sequence go by quicker).
.jpg)
The tension is palpable.
This was only level one, and frankly doesn't illustrate how much shit gets thrown at you later on.
If you mess up and hit one of the stray thought bubbles, your Mii ends up filling the space with it, then you have to try again. After this initial mistake however, I didn't make any more, so you'll see below the rest of the Mii segments. I didn't record any more game segments because I was too focused!

After the first level.

The second.

Here we go!
.jpg)
Boom!
Don't forget to press 'A' to clap.
There we have it! Our first (and probably, only) married couple on the island. This was actually much easier that the last game's minigame, which felt a lot more tense and depended heavily on timing. A proper 'game' like this felt more manageable and a little fun.

.jpg)
Well, get to it, then.

Some choice images.
I thought it was interesting Note-Chan was described as "Oh-so-serious".
Then again, who invited her opp to- oh yeah that's Spice-Chan's sister.
Wonder how close to canon this all is.
Honeymoon time! The two decided on the Galapagos Islands, for some reason. Not like I'd know what sort of thing they'd decide to do. I guess taking an island getaway from another island would be exciting, considering this one has a lot more nature going on. Fun!

What a cute background.

Another album to the collection.
Once home, yet another souvenir was added to my collection. I threw this one at Cholera-Chan later. With their wedding and honeymoon and what-have-you completed, the next step was moving in with one another. Unfortunately, my island is actually TOO SMALL for me to expand the condo area, so I put them down in an empty plot in the suburbs for now. Which, didn't look bad at all! This comes in handy later.

.jpg)
.jpg)
That's right!
.jpg)
.jpg)
Well, before they moved in, there was a brief news report regarding the marriage by Cholera-Chan.
.jpg)
Once moved in, they went straight to jammin' out.
A lot happened there, didn't it?! Well, I wasn't done yet. Wanting to take some pictures of Chans for their profiles, I headed to the Foto-Tomo. I unlocked some new backgrounds, but I wasn't interested in using those. I did however see this cute setting, and decided to indulge a bit. Here, I remembered about the whole "there's not guides on Mii expressions" issue I had before, so took a picture of the expressions list too.
.jpg)
Dream-Chan and Dust-Chan. I had to do it!
For some DASTARDLY reason, I didn't take any photos of what transpired next. Nightmare-Chan wanted to move in with White Phosphorous-Chan! I thought, these two under one roof?! Sure... I guess. I offered "complaining" as the hobby they would do together, and that clicked for the both of them. So now our fourth condo, The Ward, has been created onto the island.
Next with relationships was Sour-Chan, who was interested in getting Swine Flu-Chan and Bile-Chan to meet. Perhaps tired of Bile's insistance to befriend only green Chans (and children), they managed to get along over a converation of being strong, independent women. I guess.
.jpg)
I'm sure they'll get along just fine.
So that's what all happened today on Chans Island. Pretty eventful, eh?! Looking forward to some summertime mayhem (and more Chans joining down the line)!
