What's Hangin'?
Another bite of sitely updates and some ramblin'
Hey everyone! What's hangin'? Yep, that's right- I redid my text page. Again! I just am never happy with it. Well, hopefully this third iteraction sticks a little longer. Simple and clean!
I guess while I'm here, I can talk about a few things that have happened since, if not to keep testing this page out... when was I last in here, March? Phew, let's see, well in April I joined Pixel Herd for a spell, and even rejoined an old art server I used to hang out in. In May... I can hardly remember, props server shenanigans. In June... well, the World Cup started! I had so much fun with it, I got to watch so many games and learned about Mr. Haaland (wowzers!). I even made a line of Pixel Herd horses for fun, based off of participating countries! July is always Art Fight month, and I made... er... three drawings. Oh yeah. Was probably the beginning of a downpour for me.
August was tough, as it has been the past few years. Money problems began in my family, and a friend I considered close basically backstabbed me when I wanted some privacy. See, to help with my family, I opted to do a merch run. I grabbed another friend of mine to help out, was tossed another extra hands by another friend. Stress pelted my back and I needed to set boundaries. Well... that just caused a load of issues. It went on into September, til finally we came to an agreement. I'm grateful to have at least settled things peacefully, but considering things, I'm going to start protecting myself more than ever and become much more private than I was before. Never again.
September came and went, and it's been hot as hell... when is El Niño coming?! This past October weekend was in the 100s, and I had to walk blocks in that heat. Awful!! But I had a good day... although, public transport is still very scary to use. I wonder why the train doesn't have security on it with the amount of deranged people who board, likely without even paying. Look at me complaining this way... but it's SCARY!! Seriously! I'd be going to the library more often if things didn't feel so dangerous out here.
Sunday I made a list of some things I'd like to update on the site. This included /text of course, but since I plan to switch things around (again, for my privacy... as private as you can get with a public website listed on another public website, that is) I'll be updating my splash, welcome, and sitely pages. I likely will get rid of the updates section of the splash (RIP) and reserve written updates for the sections on my welcome page (make use of that). I need to put something on the /chans link, because it looks dead, but I'm just reworking everything one at a time (and yes, it's taking a while). A little picture for your viewing pleasure and maybe a funny stat to show progress.
The gigalith of my website, /art, forever in need of updates... is also in need of updating. Lots of them. New thumbnails, feed updates and 2025 galleries need catching up! I've done practically all the updates going backwards, except maybe /experimental. Surprisingly I didn't write any updates for /games even though there is plenty of missing content. Probably because they'd be as substantial as a gallery update, lol. So much writing and uploading. Those videos are definitely devious. But I like em. Maybe I'll do something small for them. /my-room will just be getting some fixes, like getting /sleep's 2026 entries up to date and fixing broken links on the music player. I do use that thing, so it can be a bother when the link's broken.
Well, let's see what I can accomplish. It's nearly almost a week into October and I feel crippled by this dreadful heat. I can't draw else I risk burning my tablet, so it was a good excuse to try to get back on updating my website. I've mostly been gone since life's gotten pretty overwhelming and worsens my depression. It's a horrible thing to go through, but I have some help and the most dependable best friend you could ever ask for by my side. I also have some plans for the future and hope, too. Never give up hope!
